Dolan/Maxwell - Philadelphia, PA - U.S.A.

Internationally known in the field of modern & contemporary visual art, Dolan/Maxwell is located in a former carriage house in Center City Philadelphia just west of Rittenhouse Square. Run by Director, Ron Rumford, and owners, Margo Dolan & Peter Maxwell, we welcome interested individuals, experienced collectors and art professionals by appointment.
Dolan/Maxwell specializes in work by artists from the 1930's to the present. Their works are presented seriously and in depth: WPA, Modernist, European, New York School, African American & International Contemporary. We work closely with the artists and the estates of artists we represent. We augment these works with carefully chosen pieces by artists whose work complements our core and are of particular interest to us. As a Founding member of The International Fine Print Dealers Association we have notable expertise in works on paper in all media.

Founded in 1984 Dolan/Maxwell operated a major gallery at 1701 Walnut Street, Philadelphia from 1984 to 1991 and at 154 Wooster Street, New York from 1988 to late 1990. In the summer of 1991 the three principals decided to create a private gallery, open by appointment. This change gave us the freedom to expand our participation in national & international art fairs. Today, we exhibit in 10 art fairs per year and continually spend time with those who come to see work in the house in Philadelphia.
