Galleri Brandstrup - Oslo - Norway

.
Galleri Brandstrup is one of the leading contemporary art galleries in Norway and was founded by Kim Brandstrup and Marit Gillespie at Skøyen in Oslo, in 2000. The gallery relocated to the new up and coming art-district in Oslo, Tjuvholmen, in March 2010. In addition to representing some of the driving forces of innovation within Nordic contemporary art, Galleri Brandstrup pride themselves on exhibiting important and ground-breaking international artists. The stall of artists is selected with conviction, based on their unique visual language. Though many of the artists represented by the gallery are well-established, Brandstrup has also experienced great success in discovering and promoting new talents.

The gallery mainly display monthly solo exhibitions, but also do projects, nationally and internationally, with museums, art fairs and other galleries. To illustrate, in 2011, Brandstrup organized an exhibition by Mark Quinn, alongside with White Cube Gallery in London and Kistefos museum, near Oslo. Brandstrup has had successful solo exhibitions with John Baldessari and Kohei Yoshiyuki, as a result of collaborative efforts with Sonnabend and Marion Goodman Galleries and Yossi Milo. An exhibition of photos, sculpture and video by Marina Abramovic, in collaboration with the Sean Kelly Gallery & Turid Meeker Contemporary Art, opened in September 2012.
